EMILY ZOBANOV

Emily ZobanovMA, LPC

Sees Individuals (17+)

Emily has always been drawn to helping others and knew she wanted to choose a helping profession which ultimately led to her graduation from Liberty University with a master's degree in Professional Counseling in 2012. She has worked with people who are struggling with substance abuse, women's issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, boundary issues, co-dependency, grief and loss, obsessive-compulsive disorder, difficult life transitions, career goals, and spiritual problems.

God can use the counseling relationship to help people find relief, hope, and restoration. Emily often incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a well-researched therapy approach that has proven effectiveness in helping overcome destructive thinking patterns and behaviors that lead to feeling stuck and downhearted instead of free and joyful.

Here is some info about Emily so she'll seem like a real person and not so one-dimensional. She met her future husband, Ilya, on a mission trip after college when she had no idea what to do with my life and decided it was time to surrender things to God. It was friendship at first, but God worked in beautiful ways over the next year and they've been happily married since 2002. They have two wonderful kids, a dog, and a cat.

A few of Emily's quests in life are to be a wise and godly mother and wife, to learn Russian well so she can communicate with her in-laws better, to avoid pickles or anything that tastes like a pickle, to always have a cat or a dog so home feels like home and become pretty okay at painting with watercolors.
