CARLA RUSSELL
Carla is devoted to providing compassionate care in a safe and supportive environment where clients can experience meaningful healing and lasting freedom. Her areas of focus include trauma, relational brokenness, family of origin issues, emotional dysregulation, substance use disorder, and self esteem and identity struggles. She is committed to walking alongside her clients as they begin the deeply personal, transformative journey of discovering and embracing their true, authentic selves.
She holds a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). Carla is in the process of completing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training to help clients strengthen their emotional resilience and heal from trauma.Â
She seeks to provide evidenced-based, informed care, integrating modalities, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing to meet the unique needs of her clients. Carla believes lasting healing flows from a whole-person approach grounded in intimacy with Christ. She enjoys working with a broad range of populations, including young adults, adults, older adults and couples.Â
Carla finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, including spending time in nature, getting lost in a good book, welcoming new experiences and staying active through walking, running, or playing tennis and pickleball when time allows. She values meaningful connections and cherishes quality time with her friends and family.Â
